A: RiffTrax are downloadable audio tracks that you play in sync with your DVDs. They are written and performed by Mike Nelson, former host and head writer of Mystery Science Theater 3000.
Q: Is RiffTrax MST3k 2.0?
A: No. RiffTrax is RiffTrax.
Q: This "synching the movie to the MP3" thing sounds way too difficult.
A: It's far easier than you'd ever imagine. Try it, you'll like it. We also have a RiffTrax Player that syncs things up automagically!
Q: My downloads didn't work, my download email never came, I somehow erased every single thing on my hard drive...
A: Email support AT rifftrax.com and we'll get back to you, usually no later than the next business day. You might also check the Forum - there are plenty of people there who have been through this before.
Q: Am I buying or renting the movie?
A: It's yours to keep! All of RiffTrax On Demand content is yours forever.
Q: What format do the VOD files come in?
A: All of our VOD shorts are offered DRM-free as DVD-ready MPEG-2, High Quality DivX, and two files perfect for your iPod or Zune. Most of our feature length VOD content is offered as DRM-free DivX files, which are playable on any DivX-certified device (including Xbox 360 and PS3).
Q: Am I getting the movie and the RiffTrax?
A: With normal RiffTrax, no. But with On Demand products, you are getting the movie with the RiffTrax commentary embedded into it. No synching is required for VOD files..
Q: Can I riff with Mike?
A: Maybe! With our new iRiffs section, you'll be able to upload your own riffs to RiffTrax.com! Some of our most popular riffers will get the chance to riff on an official RiffTrax Presents with Mike! So start writing and uploading your stuff!
